Functional Component

(Noun) The smallest unit of technology in the IT4IT™ Reference Architecture that can stand on its own and be useful as a whole to an IT practitioner (or IT service provider). It must have defined inputs and outputs that are data objects and must have an impact on a key data object. See also Application Component.
